Ballykealey House Photo shoot
I was commissioned for an indoor and outdoor wedding photography shoot by Ballykealey House Hotel in Carlow. From start to finish the planning and execution of the shoot followed best practice and delivered a suite of great images for use in many marketing contexts.
At the onset, Karen Geraghty, Sales and Marketing Manager, developed a mood board and shot-list for the shoot. Following consultation on this and discussion of table settings Karen engaged with Niamh from Owl House Events to provide props and help with styling and Louise from Darling Buds Florist for the flowers.

The shoot days
Two days were marked in the diary. This gave us flexibility on outdoor and indoor photography timing with weather.
The first step on the day was to do a walkaround with key people involved. The larger plan of where and when each area would be shot was reviewed. Movement of tables, chairs and props needed to be considered so that set-up in one area could happen as another area was being photographed. Details on styling was also reviewed to consider lighting, mood and photographically what would be the strongest set-up. Juggling all these variables is key to efficiency, teamwork and maximising quantity of great images that can be achieved. On the days, between suppliers and and hotel staff we had 5 to 10 people involved in making it all happen. Many thanks to all involved.
The photos
While processing images I consulted with Karen on colour tone to ensure final result would be in keeping with her brand vision. In the end we succeeded in getting over 60 images. These included alternate views of one particular set-up and detail shots which are great to help tell the story of weddings at Ballykealey House.
